HyunA & Taeyang voted as the next Lee Hyori & Rain

Today’s hottest idol stars were asked who they thought would be best qualified to be the next Lee Hyori and Rain, two very iconic personalities in Hallyu.

Although there were a wide variety of opinions, 4minute‘s HyunA and Big Bang‘s Taeyang came out on top of the ranking.

Runner-ups included B2ST‘s Lee Kikwang, Jay Park, SNSD‘s Yuri, and G.NA.

This poll was especially interesting as members of Infinite, MBLAQ, U-KISS and B1A4 all actively voted for HyunA as the next Lee Hyori…

Sohyun uploads a photo of 4minute in New York

4minute‘s Sohyun shared a photo of the group in New York recently.

Sohyun tweeted, “4minute at MTV in New York. It was a really fun performance.” 4minute traveled to New York on October 9th to participate in the “New York-Korea Festival” with other artists including TVXQ, 2PM, B2ST and SISTAR.

G-Dragon, B2ST, and Yoo Seung Ho take part in a charitable campaign for ‘Singles’

Singles‘ magazine has launched a charitable campaign called the ‘Barefoot Campaign’ to raise awareness about less fortunate children in third world countries who lack shoes for their feet. Having released an emotional picture of 2AM’s Seulong earlier, we’re now following up with photos of G-Dragon, B2ST, and actor Yoo Seung Ho.

Many of Korea’s famous photographers participated in the campaign alongside some of the nation’s top youth stars. Photographers Kim Je Won, Bo Ri, Choi Yong Bin, Hong Jang Hyun snapped emotive portraits of Yoo Seung Ho, G-Dragon, Song Joong Ki, B2ST, Yoo Ah In, Ji Sung, and Lee Dong Wook.

Last week, Korea’s baddest blondes faced off in our poll, and we’re ready to announce the winner!

 Shinhwa’s Jun Jin beat out his much younger competition of idol stars to take the win, picking up 32.7 percent of votes and proving he’s still at the top of his game.
Super Junior-M’s Henry took second place with 28.6 percent of votes, while the newly blonde B2ST member Jang Hyun Seung came in third place with 16.5 percent.

2NE1’s Sandara Park finished in fourth place with 14 percent, while fellow YG label mate and Big Bang leader G-Dragon followed with 6.1 percent of votes.

Finally, After School’s Nana finished in last place, scrounging up two percent of votes.

It’s official – Jun Jin is the baddest blonde!

20 idol singers unite to sing the G20 Seoul Summit theme song

Ahead of the prestigious 2010 G20 Seoul Summit this November, it was revealed that 20 idol singers from popular K-Pop groups of today have been recruited to sing the theme song for the event.

The theme song, titled, ‘Let’s Go‘, had been made specially for the event which will take place from November 11 – 12th at Samsung-dong’s Coex, for the discussion about the world’s economy.

The idol group members who will lend their voices include Gyuri (KARA), Seohyun (SNSD), Junsu (2PM), Changmin (2AM), Jaekyung (Rainbow), Jonghyun (SHINee), Sungmin (Super Junior), Kahi (After School), Luna (f(x)), JiEun (SECRET), Junhyung (B2ST), Gayoon (4minute), Min (miss A), G.O (MBLAQ), Bumkey (2wins), G.NA, Son Dambi, Seo In Kook, IU, and Anna.

Winners from the ’2011 Melon Music Awards’

K-Pop stars flocked to the Seoul Olympic Park Stadium on November 24th to attend the ‘2011 Melon Music Awards‘.

The awards show, which began in 2009 and is now entering its 3rd year, established itself as one of the big four music awards ceremonies in South Korea, alongside the Mnet Asian Music Awards, Golden Disk Awards, and Seoul Music Awards.

Hosted by Super Junior’s Leeteuk, actress Park Shin Hye and B2ST‘s Doojoon, the awards ceremony is famed for calculating ONLY digital sales (80%) and online votes (20%) on Melon.com; the final tally of those two factors will produce the winners in the various categories.
